The Planning and Economic Development Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by the Planning and Economic Development Committee with the following action:
ELECTION OF CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR
1. Regional Councillor Scarpitti was elected Chair and Mayor Young was elected Vice Chair of the Planning and Economic Development Committee for 2004.
PRESENTATION
2. Committee requested that the presentation to be made by Barbara Jeffrey, Principal Planner, regarding Bill 26, 'Planning Act Amendments' and Bill 27, 'Greenbelt Protection Act', not be made at this time. Committee was advised that a report on Bill 26 would be placed on the Committee agenda for February, but that comments relating to Bill 27 were requested by the Province no later than January 23, 2004.
Committee recommended that a presentation be made to Council at the January 22, 2004 meeting, and that staff prepare a report commenting on the Bills' implications for municipalities.
The Planning and Economic Development Committee adjourned at 4:23 p.m.
