The Transportation Services Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by the Transportation Services Committee with the following action:

1. TRANSFER OF NASHVILLE ROAD FROM THE REGION TO THE CITY OF VAUGHAN
(Regional Council at its meeting on June 25, 2010 referred this Item back to staff for a report to the September 8, 2010 meeting of the Transportation Services Committee. See Council Minute Nos. 100 and 117.)
The Transportation Services Committee recommends:
1. Receipt of the deputation by Paul Mantella, President,
2. Receipt of the deputation by Ken Schwenger, Chair, Kleinburg Area Ratepayers Association;
3. Receipt of the communication from H. Barons, Resident, Kleinburg, dated June 9, 2010;
4. Receipt of the communication from Jeffrey A. Abrams, City Clerk, City of Vaughan, dated May 10, 2010, regarding 'Transfer of Nashville Road from Region to the City of Vaughan'; and
5. Referral of the deputations and communications to staff with direction that Transportation Services staff forward a report to Regional Council on June 24, 2010 that outlines the implications of the requested transfer and the current status of the Major Mackenzie Drive connection.
2. INSTALLATION OF A TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT THE INTERSECTION OF GEORGE KIRBY AND BATHURST STREET, CITY OF VAUGHAN
The Transportation Services Committee recommends:
1. Receipt of the deputation by Ronald Richards, R.G. Richards & Associates;
2. Receipt of the communication from Jeffrey A. Abrams, City Clerk, City of Vaughan, dated May 25, 2010, regarding 'Deputation � Mr. Ron Richards with Respect to Installing a Traffic Signal at the Intersection of George Kirby Street and Bathurst Street'; and
3. Referral of the deputation and communication to staff with direction that Transportation Services staff work with the developer and proceed with the installation of the signal, at the developer's cost, if all requirements of the Region's Traffic Signal Warrants policy are met.

9. Regional Councillor Spatafora requested that staff investigate replacing grass with alternative vegetation that require less maintenance on roadsides in both rural and urban areas and report back to the Transportation Services Committee in early 2011.

The Committee resolved into private session at 10:20 a.m. to consider the following:

The Committee resumed in public session at 11:02 a.m. with no report out. The Committee's recommendations on the above matter will be forwarded to Council for consideration at its June 24, 2010 Private Session.
