1. Sheila Birrell, Town Clerk, Town of Markham, February 14, 2008, regarding Yonge Subway Advisory Task Force � Draft Terms of Reference and appointment of representatives, advising that Mayor Scarpitti and Councillor Burke have been appointed by Markham Council. Received.

 

2. Sheila Birrell, Town Clerk, Town of Markham, March 7, 2008, regarding Yonge Subway Advisory Task Force � Appointment of Non-elected Representative, advising that Joe Ricciuti has been appointed by Markham Council. Received.

 

3. Honourable Jim Bradley, Minister of Transportation, March 31, 2008, regarding Regional Municipality of York Transit Investments. The Committee acknowledged the letter and was advised that an authorizing by-law will be prepared.

 

4. Roger T. Beaman, Thomson Rogers, April 4, 2008, regarding Condor Properties Ltd., Interests in Yonge Street Subway Extensions.  Received.

 

5. Sybil Fernandes, Deputy City Clerk, City of Vaughan, April 4, 2008, regarding Appointments to Yonge Subway Advisory Task Force, advising that Regional Councillor Frustaglio and Councillor Alan Shefman have been appointed by Vaughan Council.  Received.

 

6. Donna L. McLarty, Town Clerk, Town of Richmond Hill, April 8, 2008, regarding appointments to Yonge Subway Advisory Task Force, advising Mayor Barrow, Regional Councillor Hogg and David West, Chair of the Advocacy Committee of the Richmond Hill Chamber of Commerce, have been appointed by Richmond Hill Council.  Received.

 

 

PRIVATE SESSION

 

The Committee resolved into private session at 10:32 a.m. to consider the following:

 

7. Verbal update by the Vice President, York Region Rapid Transit Corporation, regarding the Cornell land acquisition � Land acquisition matter.

 

8. Communication from N.W. Bud Purves, President, York University Development Corporation, April 2, 2008, regarding Steeles West Transit Node � Future Development Opportunity � Security of Municipal Property.

 

9. Presentation by the Vice President, York Region Rapid Transit Corporation, regarding Potential Land Acquisitions, Town of Newmarket � Land Acquisition.

 

The Committee resumed in public session at 11:02 a.m. with no report out.
