COMMUNICATIONS

1. County of Simcoe dated August 26, 2003 regarding Implementation of the York
Regional No-Smoking By-law Update - March 2002-March 2003. Received.
 
2. Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care dated September 19, 2003 regarding additional funding to track infectious diseases. Received.
 
3. Southlake Regional Health Centre dated August 25, 2003, regarding assistance provided by York Region EMS during SRHC's redevelopment program and the initiation of new regional services. Received.
 
4. Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care received September 25, 2003, advising of grant regarding infectious diseases. Received with thanks.
OTHER BUSINESS
5. Margaret McCaffrey, Manager, Health Protection Division provided a verbal update regarding West Nile Virus and submitted a document entitled "WNv Activities Update, October 2, 2003". Received and that thanks be extended to Dr. H. Kassam and Staff for their exemplary work relating to the West Nile Virus.
 
The Health and Emergency Medical Services Committee adjourned at 3:15 p.m.
