OTHER BUSINESS

 

13. Mayor Grossi raised concerns regarding recent correspondence from the Ministry of Transportation regarding an interim terminus for the Hwy. 404 construction at Queensville Sideroad.  Referred to the General Manager, Roads for a report to the September 27, 2007 Regional Council meeting.

 

14. Regional Councillor Landon requested that consideration be given to a Regional signage program for the Donald Cousens Parkway to indicate the by-pass.  Referred to Transportation and Works staff to work with Town of Markham staff on the development of signage, and identification of appropriate locations for signage, for the Donald Cousens Parkway by-pass. 

 

15. Regional Councillor Landon raised concerns with the timing of lights and the pavement markings on Major Mackenzie Road at the Donald Cousens Parkway.  Referred to Transportation and Works staff to follow-up with Regional Councillor Landon.

 

16. Regional Councillor Taylor requested that staff give consideration to larger signage for the East Holland River, and further consider co-branding these larger signs in conjunction with the September 28, 2007 Holland River Conservation Foundation campaign kick-off to clean-up the river.  Referred to Transportation and Works staff for follow-up with Regional Councillor Taylor.

 

17. Mayor Grossi requested that the Region give consideration to covering the costs associated with the installation of a guardrail on Baseline Road, adjacent to the pond at the new East Gwillimbury Tube and Terrain Park.  Referred to Transportation and Works staff for follow-up.

 

 

PRIVATE SESSION

 

The Committee resolved into private session at 10:20 a.m. to consider information relating to the corporate organizational review - Personal Matters about Identifiable Individuals. 

 

The Committee resumed in public session at 11:10 a.m. with no report out.

 

 

 

 

The Transportation and Works Committee adjourned at 11:12 a.m.
