The Transportation Services Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by the Transportation Services Committee with the following action:

1. Debbie Schaefer, Councillor, Township of King, regarding 'King City GO Station - Parking/Shuttle Service'  Received and referred to staff.  Committee also directed staff to review the possibility of including the Township of King in the Smart Commute program.

Monthly Transit Ridership Statistics

 

10. Memo from Commissioner Llewellyn-Thomas and attached August 2011 Monthly Ridership Statistics  Received.

 

Vaughan Council to Review Motion on Restricting Truck Traffic on Islington Avenue

 

11. Committee was advised that Vaughan Council will consider a motion to request that the Region study the restricting of truck traffic along a section of Islington Avenue between Langstaff Road and Highway 7.

 

Residents Request Speed Reduction on Dufferin Street

 

12. Committee was advised that residents have requested a speed limit reduction from 80 km per hour on Dufferin Street between Major Mackenzie Drive and Kirby Road where construction is in progress.

 

Outreach for Presto Card

 

13. Committee discussed future outreach opportunities for the Presto Card, such as in malls and city/town halls.

 

 

The Transportation Services Committee adjourned at 11:44 a.m.
