The Planning and Economic Development Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by the Planning and Economic Development Committee with the following action:

 

 

PRESENTATIONS

 

1. Regional Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Guidelines

Sean Hertel, Senior Planner, Community Planning presented the Regional Transit-Oriented Development Guidelines, providing a brief background and the approach to be used in developing the Guidelines. Draft Guidelines will be presented to Committee in the Fall of 2005. Received.

 

2. Vacant Employment Land Inventory

Paul Bottomley, Principal Planner, Long Range & Strategic Planning presented a preliminary report on the 2005 York Region Vacant Employment Land Inventory, including the York Region Employment Forecast, employment categories, key objectives and highlights. A detailed report will be presented to Committee in the Fall of 2005. Received.

 

 

COMMUNICATIONS

1. Office of the Minister of Health, dated May 2, 2005, responding to the Region's letter of December 17, 2004, regarding the construction of the Hydro One Transmission line from Markham to Newmarket and public concerns with EMFs. Received.
