8 UPDATE - COMMITTEE PROCEEDINGS
The Planning and Economic Development Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by the Planning and Economic Development Committee with the following action:
PRESENTATIONS
1. Greater
Karen Campbell, President and CEO of the Greater Toronto Marketing Alliance presented the 2006 GTMA Overview and provided copies of the 2005-2006 Annual Report. Committee noted that Regional Councillor Wong was the Region's representative on the GTMA Board. Received.
2. 2007 Business Plan and Budget
The Committee received the presentation by Bryan Tuckey, Commissioner of Planning and Development Services, and recommended the 2007 Business Plan and Budget for the Planning and Development Services Department be referred to the April 5, 2007 Finance and Administration Committee meeting with the following recommendation:
The 2007 Business Plan and Budget for the Planning and Development Services Department be recommended for adoption.
The Committee also requested staff to examine possible additional efficiencies and potential revenue increases.

3. Bill Fisch, Regional Chair and CEO [3.2MB], January 19, 2007 to The Honourable David Caplan, Minister of Public Infrastructure Renewal regarding 'Comments on the Technical Paper on a Proposed Methodology for Developing a Built Boundary for the Greater Golden Horseshoe' and attached Local Municipal comments. Received.
4. Carolyn Lance, on behalf of the Clerk, Town of Georgina, January 26, 2007 advising that Georgina Council supports the Industry Cluster Analysis being undertaken by York Region. Received.
5. Kathy Stranks, Manager, Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, February 3, 2007, regarding a resolution approving in principle the Terrestrial Natural Heritage System Strategy and enclosing the report for information and any action deemed necessary. Received.
The Planning and Economic Development Committee adjourned at 2:30 p.m.
