The Planning and Economic Development Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by the Planning and Economic Development Committee with the following action:
PRESENTATIONS
1. Gary Bowen, Duffins-Carruthers Watershed Specialist, Toronto and Region Conservation Authority regarding 'Progress in Implementing a Watershed Plan for Duffins Creek and Carruthers Creek'. Received.
2. Diane Bladek-Willett, Director, Health Information and Planning Branch, Health Services and John Waller, Director, Long Range and Strategic Planning regarding 'Focus on Our Environment, York Region State of the Environment Report 2005'. Staff noted that the report entitled "Focus on Our Environment, York Region State of the Environment Report 2005" will be considered at Health and Emergency Services Committee on December 1, 2005. Received.
3. Paul Bottomley, Principal Planner, Long Range & Strategic Planning, presented highlights regarding the document entitled "Places to Grow, Proposed Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe," released for
comment November 24, 2005 by the Ministry of Public Infrastructure Renewal. A copy of "Planning for Growth, A Guide to the Proposed Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe", was distributed to Committee members. Staff noted that a detailed report will be presented to Committee in January 2006.

COMMUNICATIONS

4. The Honourable Leona Dombrowsky, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, dated November 3, 2005 responding to the Region's letter regarding the GTA Agricultural Action Plan. Received.
OTHER BUSINESS
5. Committee was advised that Susan Taylor, Director, Human Services Planning, will be leaving the Region and has taken a position with Tamarak Institute. Committee thanked Ms. Taylor for her years of service to the Region and congratulated her on her hard work and commitment to the Human Services Planning project with best wishes for her future endeavours.
The Planning and Economic Development Committee adjourned at 2:45 p.m.
