The Community and Health Services Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by the Community and Health Services Committee with the following action:

 

 

DEPUTATIONS

 

1. James Christie, Founder, Cycle for Lyme, regarding a petition concerning Lyme Disease  Received and referred to the York Region Medical Officer of Health for a report.

2. Jessica Bell-Taliana, regarding Lyme Disease  Received and referred to the York Region Medical Officer of Health for a report.

3. James Christie, Founder, Cycle for Lyme, dated September 22, 2011, regarding a petition from Bob Bailey, M.P.P., Sarnia-Lambton concerning Lyme Disease and additional background material  Received with request to circulate to the local municipalities, and referred to the York Region Medical Officer of Health for a report.

4. Adelina Urbanski, Commissioner, Community and Health Services, dated October 12, 2011, regarding 'Provincial Long Term Affordable Housing Strategy and the Federal/Provincial Investing in Affordable Housing Program'  Received.

 

5. Kimberley Kitteringham, Town Clerk, Town of Markham, dated October 5, 2011, regarding 'Lyme Disease Petition'  Received with request to circulate to the local municipalities, and referred to the York Region Medical Officer of Health for a report.

OTHER BUSINESS

 

Daycare Providers Must Present Audited Financial Reports to the Province

 

6. Committee discussed the delays in receiving wage subsidies due to daycare providers procrastinating in submitting their audited financial reports to the province.

 

 

The Community and Health Services Committee adjourned at 3:40 p.m.
