The Transportation Services Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by the Transportation Services Committee with the following action:
COMMUNICATIONS

1. Chandra Urquhart, Legislative Coordinator, City of Brampton, dated September 11, 2009, regarding 'Endorsement of the Peel-Highway 427 Extension Area Transportation Master Plan Study'. Received.
2. Kathleen Llewellyn-Thomas, Commissioner of Transportation Services, dated September 30, 2009, regarding 'August Transit Ridership Statistics'. Received.
OTHER BUSINESS
3. Monthly Ridership Statistics. Received.
4. Regional Councillor Landon raised concerns with construction contractors working on Regional road projects. Commissioner Llewellyn-Thomas assured Committee that staff will review the current contract requirements and monitoring processes, including the customer service requirements of the contractors, and will investigate the specific incidents raised by Regional Councillor Landon.
5. Mayor Grossi raised an issue with the watermain project in the Town of Georgina and the temporary asphalt repair. Commissioner Llewellyn-Thomas responded that staff are monitoring the situation and will consider a permanent patch until the project is completed.
6. Regional Councillor Spatafora raised concerns regarding a recent incident with the Mobility Plus service. Commissioner Llewellyn-Thomas responded that staff are aware of the incident and will be investigating further.
7. Commissioner Llewellyn-Thomas informed the Committee that reports are pending from both Markham and Richmond Hill concerning mid-block crossings are pending and a full report addressing all mid-block crossings will be presented to Committee shortly.
8. Mayor Grossi raised concerns with the quality of road resurfacing on Kennedy Road and Warden Avenue in the Town of Georgina. Commissioner Llewellyn-Thomas responded that a new form of resurfacing is being used which tends to leave a bumpier surface and that staff are continuing to monitor this new product.
The Transportation Services Committee adjourned at 11:13 a.m.
