The Transit Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by the Transit Committee with the following action:
 
COMMUNICATIONS

1. Honourable John Manley, Minister of Finance, August 13, 2003, regarding 'employer-provided transit passes'. Received and Staff be requested to refer this matter to the Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA) and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) to convene a meeting to respond to the communication and the issue of tax exempt transit benefits.
 
2. J. Gordon, Town of Markham, June 30, 2003, expressing thanks to Mobility Plus Service Staff for their generosity and understanding. Received.
 
OTHER BUSINESS
 
3. Irene McNeil, Manager, Service Planning, York Region Transit, made a presentation regarding the 2003 Ridership Summary. Received.
