DEPUTATION

1. Clarke Bitter, President, and Paul Balasiuk, Chief Operating Officer, P&C Compostech Inc., April 8, 2008, made a deputation regarding compostable bamboo paper products. Received.
DEFERRED REPORT
2. IMPROVING QUALITY OF BLUE BOX AND GREEN BIN MATERIALS
The Solid Waste Management Committee recommends the report, March 28, 2008, from the Commissioner of Environmental Services, be deferred and that staff report back to the Committee on May 20, 2008, providing additional local municipal input.

OTHER BUSINESS
6. The Committee was informed that Andrew Campbell, Director of Solid Waste and Administration, would be leaving the Region to work for the Association of Municipalities (AMO) and in association with Waste Diversion Ontario. The Committee thanked Mr. Campbell for his years of service with the Region and wished him well in his future endeavours.
PRIVATE SESSION
Committee resolved into private session at 11:28 a.m. to consider the following:
7. Presentation by Mike Birett, Manager, Program Development and Planning, regarding Dufferin County Source Separated Organics Design/Build/Operate Request for Proposals Preliminary Results � Security of Municipal Property.
The Committee resumed in public session at 11:59 a.m. with no report out.
The Solid Waste Management Committee adjourned at 12:00 p.m.
