The Solid Waste Management Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by the Solid Waste Management Committee with the following action:
DEPUTATION
1. Rebecca Beaton, Aurora Resident, and communication from Evelina MacEachern, Councillor, Town of Aurora, March 1, 2009, requesting the Region to hold a One Day Household Hazardous Waste Event in the Town of Aurora.
The Committee received the deputation and requested staff report back to a future meeting of the Committee with the following information:
(a) a cost/benefits analysis of holding a one day household hazardous waste event in Aurora;
(b) an analysis of the number of users from each of the local municipalities at the Regional Household Hazardous Waste Depots; and
(c) any information on the quantities of the hazardous waste found in the residual waste stream.

COMMUNICATION
2. Anita Moore, Town Clerk, Town of Newmarket, March 3, 2009 endorsing the Region's comments regarding 'Review of the Waste Diversion Act and the Blue Box Recycling Program'. Received.
OTHER BUSINESS
3. The Committee requested staff provide a report to a future meeting of the Committee with an update on the current status of end users of the Dongara pellets and available data relating to air emissions from these end users.
PRIVATE SESSION
The Committee resolved into private session at 10:20 a.m. to consider the following:
4. Private Report of the Commissioner of Environmental Services � Green Lane Transportation Contract Conclusion - Security of Municipal Property.
The Committee resumed in public session at 10:28 a.m. with no report out. The Committee's recommendation on the above matter will be forwarded to Council for consideration at its March 26, 2009 Private Session.
The Solid Waste Management Committee adjourned at 10:29 a.m.
