The Rapid Transit Public/Private Partnership Steering Committee began its meeting at 10:30 a.m. on January 19, 2006. The Committee then recessed until the conclusion of the Transit Committee meeting. The Rapid Transit Public/Private Partnership Steering Committee reconvened at 11:00 a.m.

4 UPDATE - COMMITTEE PROCEEDINGS
The Rapid Transit Public/Private Partnership Steering Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by Rapid Transit Public/Private Partnership Steering Committee with the following action:
ELECTION OF CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR
1. Regional Chair Fisch was elected Chair and Mayor William F. Bell was elected Vice Chair of the Rapid Transit Public/Private Partnership Steering Committee for 2006. Mayor William F. Bell's election is conditional upon his acceptance due to his absence.
2. ADDITIONAL VEHICLES FOR VIVA FLEET
The report from the Vice-President, York Region Rapid Transit Corporation, January 13, 2006, entitled "Additional Vehicles for Viva Fleet" was referred back to staff pending submission of a further report.
PRIVATE SESSION
3. The Committee resolved into Private Session at 11:28 a.m. to consider a legal matter and resumed in Public Session at 12:04 with no report.
The Rapid Transit Public/Private Partnership Steering Committee adjourned at 12:04 p.m.
