The Rapid Transit Public/Private Partnership Steering Committee began its meeting at 11:05 a.m. on January 15, 2004.

3  UPDATE - COMMITTEE PROCEEDINGS

The Rapid Transit Public/Private Partnership Steering Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by Rapid Transit Public/Private Partnership Steering Committee with the following action:

 

ELECTION OF CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR

 

1.  Regional Chair Fisch was elected Chair and Mayor Bell was elected Vice Chair of the Committee for 2004.

 

PRIVATE SESSION

 

2.  Committee resolved into Private Session at 11:08 a.m. to consider a personnel matter and resumed in Open Session at 11:55 a.m. with no report.

 

COMMUNICATIONS

PRESENTATION

 

4.  Paul May, Acting Executive Co-ordinator, Rapid Transit Plan, provided an  update of the Project Components and Next Steps. Received.

 

OTHER BUSINESS

 

5. The Committee recommends that the Vice Chair of the Transit Committee also be a member of the Rapid Transit Public/Private Partnership Steering Committee and that the terms of reference for the Committee be so amended.

 

6. The Committee agreed to schedule a further meeting at a date to be determined to consider private matters not dealt with at this meeting.

 

The Rapid Transit Public/Private Partnership Steering Committee adjourned at 12:18 p.m.
