10 UPDATE - COMMITTEE PROCEEDINGS

The Finance and Administration Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by the Finance and Administration Committee with the following action.

COMMUNICATION

1. Ingrid Hebel, Acting Executive Director, The Regional Municipality of York Police Services Board, April 11, 2013, forwarding a report entitled 'York Regional Police Training & Education Facility Update', adopted at the Regional Municipality of York Police Services Board meeting on March 27, 2013.

Receive presentation from Police Chief Joliffe and Deputy Police Chief Carrique and recommend approval of the proposed construction of a Training and Education Facility on the Regional lands at 80 and 90 Earl Bales Drive, East Gwillimbury, containing approximately 11.6 acres.

OTHER BUSINESS

2. Regional Council Representation

Regional Chair Fisch indicated that he would be asking that the motion moved by Mayor Bevilacqua on October 18, 2012 to request an additional Council Member from the City of Vaughan, which was deferred until after a Council Education Session on April 25, 2013, be placed on the Council Agenda for May 16, 2013.

3. Renaming of Highway 7

Regional Chair Fisch indicated that there have been further discussions relating to the renaming of Highway 7 and that this matter would be coming back to Committee and Council in the near future.

4. Funeral Directors of York Region

Committee was informed that the recent funding request from the Funeral Directors of York Region has been referred to the Commissioner of Community Services and Housing.

5. Gift of Life

Mayor Emmerson indicated that he planned to bring information about the recent 'Gift of Life" community challenge to Council's attention at the May 16, 2013 meeting.

6. Parking Fees at Hospitals

The matter of parking fees at hospitals is being referred to the respective hospital boards.

11        PRIVATE SESSION

The Committee resolved into private session at 10:48 a.m. to consider the following:

1. Private Report of the Commissioner of Corporate Services � Lease Extension for Office Space - City of Vaughan � Land Acquisition

The Committee resumed in public session at 10:50 a.m. and recommended that the recommendations in the private report be adopted.

The Finance and Administration Committee adjourned its meeting at 10:51 a.m.
