1  UPDATE � SUB-COMMITTEE PROCEEDINGS

 

The e-Government Sub-Committee advises the Finance and Administration Committee of the following matters being considered by the e-Government Sub-Committee with the following action:

 

PRESENTATIONS

 

1. Dave Dobbin, Chief Operating Officer, Telecom Ottawa Limited, regarding the City of Ottawa's 2020 Broadband Plan. Received and staff be requested to investigate the possibility of completing a fibre inventory for York Region with funding for this project to be considered as part of the 2005 Business Plan and Budget process.

 

2. Tom Steckner, Software IT Architect, IBM Canada, re. Government Portals. Received.

 

3. Bruce Dotzenroth, Manager, IT Project Management and Louis Shallal, Director, Information Technology Services, providing a status update on the proposed IT Strategy. Received.

 

  

OTHER BUSINESS

 

1. The Sub-Committee requested that all of the Chief Information Officers or Information Technology Directors/Leads of the area municipalities be formally invited to its meetings.

 

2. The Sub-Committee recommends that a workshop be convened, with the support of a consultant, to present e-Government options and have a discussion among Chief Administrative Officers, Chief Information Officers or Information Technology Directors/Leads and interested members of Regional Council and local Councils with a view to determining potential information technology collaboration and gains.

 

3. Discussion on Cleveland Initiatives was deferred to a future meeting.

 

 

The e-Government Sub-Committee adjourned at 3:35 p.m.
