The Community and Health Services Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by the Community and Health Services Committee with the following action:
COMMUNICATION

1. Adelina Urbanski, Commissioner, Community and Health Services, dated March 7, 2012, regarding 'Community and Health Services Statistical Information Year End 2011' Received and requested to include the memorandum on the March 22, 2012 Regional Council agenda.
OTHER BUSINESS
Drummond Report
2. The Chair of the Committee asked Commissioner Urbanski for a brief commentary on the Drummond Report. The Commissioner advised Committee that the directions in the Drummond Report regarding social assistance and employment are generally consistent with previous reports put forward by the Community and Health Services department and the initial reports of the Social Assistance Review Commission. The Commissioner noted, depending upon the response from the government regarding what will be actioned, that the implementation is critical, and if there are very strong partnerships and consultation with municipalities, it could be a very positive direction.
8 PRIVATE SESSION
The Committee resolved into private session at 2:46 p.m. to consider the following:
1. Private Report of the Commissioner of Community and Health Services - 'Securing New Affordable Housing' -- Security of Property and Proposed Acquisition of Land
The Committee resumed in public session at 3 p.m. with no report out. The Committee's recommendations will be forwarded to Council for consideration at its March 22, 2012 Private Session.
The Community and Health Services Committee adjourned at 3:01 p.m.
