UPDATE - COMMITTEE PROCEEDINGS
The Accessibility Advisory Committee advises the Community Services and Housing Committee of the following matters having been considered by the Accessibility Advisory Committee with the following action:
PRESENTATION OF DRAFT 2006 ACCESSIBILITY PLANS
1. Lisa Gonsalves, Senior Program Manager, ODA, "Regional Overview". Received

2. Val Sequeira, Manager, Business Information Systems Development, Business Planning and Budgets Branch, Finance Department. Received
Committee requested that the issue of forming an accessibility advocacy group be added to the agenda of the next meeting of the local municipal Accessibility Advisory Committees.
3. Penny Hubbert, Acting Manager, Community Seniors Program, Health Services Department. Received
4. Sonia Singh, Senior Public Health Inspector, Health Protection Division, Health Services Department, "Accessibility to Private Well Water Education and Outreach Focus Group Volunteer Request". Received
Committee members T. Robichaud and K. Hill volunteered to participate in the focus group.
5. Don Gordon, General Manager, and Brian Drew, Manager Specialized Transit, York Region Transit, Transportation and Works Department. Received
Committee requested that Page 11 of the Transportation and Works Draft 2006 Accessibility Plan be amended to add the words "the needs" following the word "understanding" under 'Changing Attitudes and Raising Awareness � Indicators of Success'.
A hand out of statistical information regarding the YRT Mobility Plus applications and appeals was circulated to Committee members.
Committee encouraged the Transportation and Works Department to continue to work in cooperation with the local municipalities regarding engineering related accessibility issues.
Committee requested that they receive presentations in 2006 regarding the Travel Training Program and the installation and/or modification of pedestrian push buttons at traffic signals.
