The Accessibility Advisory Committee began its meeting at 4:05 p.m. on November 21, 2007.

 

 

 

1  UPDATE - COMMITTEE PROCEEDINGS

 

The Accessibility Advisory Committee advises the Community Services and Housing Committee of the following matters having been considered by the Accessibility Advisory Committee with the following action:

PRESENTATION OF DRAFT 2008 DEPARTMENTAL ACCESSIBILITY PLANS

 

1. Lois Davies, Senior Program Analyst, Community and Health Services Department, 'Regional Overview'.  Received. 

 

2. Sylvia Patterson, Director, Housing Services, Community and Health Services Department.  Received.

 

3. Barry Crowe, Director, Property Services, Corporate Services Department.  Received.

 

4. Darryl Blakeley, Acting Manager, Customer Support, Information Technology Services, Finance Department.  Received.

 

 

OTHER BUSINESS

 

5. The Committee congratulated Lisa Gonsalves on her upcoming secondment opportunity, and thanked her for her work on behalf of the YRAAC committee.

 

6. Members are to provide their comments on the departmental accessibility plans at the meeting, or in writing immediately following the meeting.  A table outlining all comments will be compiled and presented to Regional Council in March, 2008.

 

7.  Janice Cameron attended the "Just Ask" inclusivity and accessibility training offered corporately two weeks ago, and highly recommended the course to all AAC members.

 

8. A special meeting of the Regional Accessibility Advisory Committee has been scheduled for Wednesday, November 28, 2007, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. to consider the following accessibility plans:  Planning and Development Services Department, York Regional Police, Corporate Communication Services, Environmental Services Department and the Transportation Services Department.

 

 

The Accessibility Advisory Committee adjourned at 4:59 p.m.
