The Accessibility Advisory Committee advises the Community Services and Housing Committee of the following matters having been considered by the Accessibility Advisory Committee with the following action:

1. Irene McNeil, Manager, Service Planning, York Region Transit and Piragal Thiru, Planner - Accessible Services, York Region Transit, Transportation Services Department, regarding 'Travel Training Program Update'. Received.  

 

2. Cordelia Abankwa-Harris, Director, Policy and Program Support Branch, Community and Health Services Department, regarding 'Opening Doors: York Region's 2008 Accessibility Plan'.  Received.

 

The Committee requested staff to report back on the following items:  more detailed plans for the accessible trail system; the draft designs, when available, for the ceremonial door ramp at the Administrative Centre; and regular updates on the status of the initiatives in the 2008 Accessibility Plan.
