7 UPDATE - COMMITTEE PROCEEDINGS
The Solid Waste Management Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by the Solid Waste Management Committee with the following action:
DEPUTATION
1. Michael O'Flanagan, resident of York Region, made a deputation regarding the Durham/York Residual Waste Study and concerns relating to the Generic Human Health and Ecological Risk Assessment Study by Regional Consultants. Mr. O'Flanagan's deputation and written comments were received.
COMMUNICATIONS

2. AMO Member Communication, June 12, 2007, regarding the Provincial announcement relating to an Industry-Funded Waste Diversion Program for Electronics and the Provincial Policy Statement on Waste Plans. Received.
3. Anita Moore, Town Clerk, Town of Newmarket, June 26, 2007, advising the Town of
4. Sheila Birrell, Town Clerk, Town of Markham, June 27, 2007, regarding 'York Durham EA Update and Waste Diversion Opportunities' and a request that York Region reconsider accepting blue bags for overflow recycling waste. Received and referred to staff for a report.
5. Sheila Birrell, Town Clerk, Town of Markham, June 27, 2007, regarding '2006 Mission Green Program Update and Proposed 2007 Pilot Projects' and requesting York Region support Markham's transparent bag pilot by accepting the overflow blue bags at the Region's recycling facility. Received and referred to staff.
6. Pam Hillock, CMO, Deputy Clerk, County of Dufferin, July 17, 2007, regarding the Memorandum of Understanding between the
OTHER BUSINESS
7. The Committee was advised that letters are being sent to provincial candidates informing them that following the election, coroplast election signs will be accepted at York Region's Waste Management Centre on October 13, 2007, for recycling.
8. A draft chart containing information relating to Regional and Municipal Diversion and Disposal Programs, to be updated every three to four months, was provided to the Committee for information.
PRIVATE SESSION
9. The Committee resolved into private session at 10:18 a.m. to consider information relating to the corporate organizational review - Personal Matters about Identifiable Individuals.
The Committee resumed in public session at 10:19 a.m. with no report out.
The Solid Waste Management Committee adjourned at 10:20 a.m.
