1. Summary of Local Municipal Diversion Activities

Michael Birett, Manager, Program Development and Planning, Solid Waste Management Branch, presented a summary of local municipal diversion activities. Received.

 

 

COMMUNICATION

2. Anna M. Knowles, Deputy Clerk, Town of East Gwillimbury, May 28, 2007, regarding Town of East Gwillimbury Council Resolution C2007-192DLS outlining the Town's position relating to the proposed "Residual Waste Processing and Energy from Waste Facility" in the Town of East Gwillimbury.  Received and referred to the Consultant, Genivar, for the Durham/York Residual Waste Study.

 

 

OTHER BUSINESS

 

3. Committee was informed of the Durham/York Residual Waste Environmental Assessment Study Public Information Sessions to be held on June 19, 2007 and June 21, 2007 at the Roman Palace Banquet Hall, Newmarket, to present and discuss the progress of the EA to date and the findings of the preliminary health and ecological risk study.

 

 

The Solid Waste Management Committee adjourned at 11:05 a.m.
