The Solid Waste Management Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by the Solid Waste Management Committee with the following action:

1.  Jos�e Rousseau, Regional Director, Toronto Region, Canadian Food Inspection Agency, dated August 23, 2004, regarding Funding Contribution. Received.

 

2.  Sheila Birrell, Town Clerk, Town of Markham, dated June 24, 2004, regarding Elimination of Plastic Bags for Leaf and Yard Material Collection (5.1). Received and referred to staff.

 

OTHER BUSINESS

 

3.  Regional Councillor Heath provided Committee with an update of the "Mission Green" being undertaken in Markham and brought samples of the recycling containers and promotional material.

 

 

PRIVATE SESSION

 

Committee resolved into Private Session at 11:08 a.m. to discuss a legal matter and reconvened at 11:35 a.m. with no report.

 

 

 

The Solid Waste Management Committee adjourned at 11:35 a.m.
