1. Update on Shredded Paper and Bagged Recyclables Contamination
Michael Birett, Manager, Program Development and Planning, providing an update on the measures being taken to reduce the contamination of blue box materials. Received.

2. Association of Municipal Recycling Coordinators Award
Memorandum from Andy Campbell, Director, Solid Waste Management, February 27, 2007, and presentation by Leslie Gilbert, Promotion and Education Coordinator, regarding the Association of Municipal Recycling Coordinators (AMRC) Promotion and Education Award to York Region for the 2006 Best Campaign award for the promotion of its Household Hazardous Waste Program. Received.

3. Durham/York Residual Waste Study Joint Management Group (JWMG)
The Minutes of the March 6, 2007 JWMG meeting were circulated to the Committee. The Committee was reminded of the next meeting of the JWMG scheduled for March 27, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in York Region and also of the special Solid Waste Management Committee meeting scheduled for 3:00 p.m. or immediately following the JWMG meeting, whichever is the earliest. Received.
PRIVATE SESSION
4. The Committee resolved into private session at 11:00 a.m. to consider one matter pertaining to solicitor and client privilege and resumed in public session at 11:29 a.m. with no report out.
The Solid Waste Management Committee adjourned at 11:30 a.m.
