The Planning and Economic Development Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by the Planning and Economic Development Committee with the following action:
 
 
PRESENTATIONS
1. Overview of the Greater Toronto Marketing Alliance
Presentation by Karen Campbell, President and CEO, Greater Toronto Marketing Alliance.
Committee received the presentation and made the following recommendations:
 
1. The Board of Directors of the GTMA be requested to have a review of the rganization, funding formula and financing methods;
 
2. The Province of Ontario be requested to commit to enhanced and long term funding of the GTMA; and
 
3. The GTMA be requested to provide information outlining the business and economic benefits to York Region and the local municipalities.
2. Low Income Profile: Building Resiliency Through Supporting Vulnerable Residents
Presentation by Cordelia Abankwa-Harris, Director, Policy and Program Support Services Division, and Joanne Fowler, Manager, Planning and Policy Branch, Community Services and Housing Department. Received.
 
3. Housing and Our Economy � Remaining Competitive
Presentation by John Waller, Director, and Anna Karasik, Planning Data Analyst,
Long Range and Strategic Planning. Received.

2. Rick Hunter, Consulting Town Planner, Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury, May 4, 2004, Request for Comments regarding Proposed Official Plan Amendments � Bond Head Development Corporation. Received and referred to staff for a report.
 
3. John Gerretsen, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, received June 9, 2004, regarding public consultations on reforms to the Ontario Municipal Board and the Planning Act, proposed changes to the Provincial Policy Statement, and on the need for implementation tools to facilitate better planning and strong communities in Ontario.
