1. Memorandum from Bryan Tuckey, Commissioner of Planning and Development Services regarding W.J. Smith Gardens Limited (
1. York Region and the Town of East Gwillimbury engage the consulting firm of North South Environmental Inc. to peer review the Environmental Impact Statement for Smith Gardens, prepared by Savanta Inc, dated February 2010;
2. The results of that review be submitted to the Province of Ontario in support of Smith Gardens' request to expand their agricultural operations within the Holland Marsh Speciality Crop Area; and
3. Regional staff continues to assist Smith Gardens and their consultants in their discussion with the Province, where possible and appropriate.
2. Memorandum from Bryan Tuckey, Commissioner of Planning and Development Services regarding the approval of York Region to act as a transition banker for Regional Tourism Organization Zone 6, dated May 5, 2010. Received and Committee recommends authorizing the Commissioner of Planning and Development Services to execute the agreement with the Ministry of Tourism to act as a transition banker for Regional Tourism Organization Zone 6.
The Planning and Economic Development Committee adjourned at 2:10 p.m.
