The Planning and Economic Development Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by the Planning and Economic Development Committee with the following action:

 

 

COMMUNICATIONS

1. John Gerretsen, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, dated October 26, 2004, response to the Regional Municipality of York's comments of September 28, 2004 regarding the Greenbelt Task Force's final advice and recommendations to the provincial government. Received and referred to staff.

 

OTHER BUSINESS

 

2. Hydro One Supply to York Region Class EA Transmission Line Study

 

The Committee inquired as to whether staff will be commenting on the Hydro One Class Environmental Assessment Line Study relating to the electrical supply to York Region.  Staff advised that electrical supply is the responsibility of Hydro One and not York Region. Staff also advised that York Region assent is not required to construct Hydro One infrastructure. Committee received staff comments and requested staff to review the issues and provide a verbal update to a future meeting of the Committee.

 

3. The Committee requested staff invite Mr. David K. Pecaut, Chairman of the Toronto City Summit Alliance, to speak at a future meeting of the Committee.

 

 

The Planning and Economic Development Committee adjourned at 3:20 p.m.
