5 UPDATE - COMMITTEE PROCEEDINGS
The Planning and Economic Development Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by the Planning and Economic Development Committee with the following action:

The Committee recommended that Regional Council endorse the Lake Simcoe Water Quality Improvement Program and support the Conservation Authority's request to the Province of Ontario to continue this program and to extend the funding for this Program until 2007, and that a letter to this effect be provided to the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority.
OTHER BUSINESS
3. A discussion with the members of the Planning and Economic Development Committee regarding the Draft Economic Strategy Discussion Paper entitled "How Can We Sustain a Vibrant Economy?" was held following the presentation of the report. Staff was directed to incorporate the Committee's comments and suggestions into the Draft Discussion Paper.
The Planning and Economic Development Committee adjourned at 2:20 p.m.
