MEETING HELD ON JULY 29, 2004

The Information Technology and Transformation Steering Committee began its meeting at 8:42 a.m. on July 29, 2004.

 

 

1  UPDATE � COMMITTEE PROCEEDINGS

 

The Information Technology and Transformation Steering Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by Information Technology and Transformation Steering Committee with the following action:

 

1.  Review of Terms of Reference of the Committee resulted in the Committee recommending that the name of the Committee be changed to:

 

                                                eGovernment Sub-Committee

 

2.  The Chair of the Committee tabled a paper prepared by The Harvard Policy Group titled "Eight Imperatives for Leaders in a Networked World: Guidelines for the 2000 Election and Beyond" and requested that the material be made available to members of the Committee. 

 

 

PRESENTATIONS

 

3.  Louis Shallal, Director of Information Technology Services made presentations on York Region's Information Technology Strategy and Broadband Strategies. Overheads and a map used are on file in the Regional Clerk's office. The Committee directed staff to gather further information regarding broadband technology for the Committee and to make a presentation of the information to a future meeting.

 

4.  The Chair of the Committee agreed to accept an invitation to Members of the Committee, all Members of Regional Council, and all Members of the area municipalities to attend an "On �Demand Briefing Day" hosted by IBM at the IBM Canadian Lab, 8200 Warden Avenue, Markham on Thursday, September 30th, 2004.

 

5.  The Committee elected Regional Councillor Ferri as Vice Chair of the Information Technology and Transformation Steering Committee.

 

  

The Information Technology and Transformation Steering Committee adjourned at 9:55 p.m.
