It was moved by Ms Jackson, seconded by Mr. Ferri that the Minutes of the Board of Directors of Housing York Inc. meeting of March 8, 2006 be confirmed, which was Carried.

 

 

Communication

Mayor Robert Grossi, Town of Georgina dated March 31, 2006 regarding resignation from the Housing York Inc. Board of Directors.

It was moved by Mr. Fisch, seconded by Mr. Ferri that the resignation from Mayor R. Grossi from the Board of Directors of Housing York Inc. be accepted, which was Carried.

Stickwood-Walker Farm � Town of Newmarket, Affordable Rental Housing Project Selection of Property Name and Affordable Housing Program Agreement

 

A Report of the General Manager dated March 30, 2006 was presented recommending that:

 

1. The Board of Directors approve the name "The Fernbank" for the new affordable rental apartments located at 615 Fernbank Road in the Town of Newmarket.

 

2. The Corporation be authorized to enter into the "Provincial Contribution Agreement" with the Province in order to secure funding under the Strong Start component of the Affordable Housing Program (AHP) and the General Manager be authorized to execute the agreement, on behalf of the Corporation, subject to the prior review of the Corporation's solicitor.

 

3. The Corporation be authorized to provide security to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) for the approved $3,500,000 in the Strong Start component of the AHP funding, subject to the prior review of the Corporation's solicitor.

 

4. Staff be authorized to take the necessary actions to give effect thereto.

It was moved by Mr. Fisch, seconded by Mr. Ferri that the foregoing report be adopted, with Recommendation No. 1 amended to delete "The Fernbrook" and replace with "Tom Taylor Place", which was Carried.

 

 

Housing York Inc. Emergency Power Plan Annual Report

 

A Report of the General Manager dated March 28, 2006 was presented recommending that:

 

1. The following report be received for information.

It was moved by Mr. Fisch, seconded by Mr. Ferri that the foregoing report be adopted, which was Carried.

 

 

Delegation of Authority � Energy Management Strategy

 

A Report of the General Manager dated March 28, 2006 was presented recommending that:

 

1. Housing York Inc. (HYI) delegate to The Regional Municipality of York the authority to make application on the corporation's behalf to potential funders for energy management initiatives that support HYI's Energy Management Strategy.

It was moved by Mr. Fisch, seconded by Ms Jackson that the foregoing report be adopted, which was Carried.
