1. Adelina Urbanski, Commissioner, Community and Health Services, dated November 7, 2012, regarding 'Final Report of the Commission for the Review of Social Assistance in Ontario' Received.
2. Denis Kelly, Regional Clerk, York Region dated November 16, 2012, regarding 'Social Assistance Workforce Development Innovations 2012 and 2013 Initiatives' Received.
3. Denis Kelly, Regional Clerk, York Region, dated November 16, 2012, regarding 'New Vision and Related Operational Reforms to York Region's Emergency Shelter and Homelessness Prevention Services' Received.
4. Lisa Gonsalves, Managing Director, Strategic Service Integration and Policy Branch, dated November 26, 2012, regarding 'Human Services Planning Board of York Region Staff Updates' Received and staff to explore the Training the Trainer workshop with Mark Friedman and report back at a future HSPB-YR Board meeting.
DISCUSSION TOPICS
5. Turn the Curve Discussion
The Board reviewed the Making Ends Meet Collective Actions and underwent a Turn the Curve exercise which included consideration of new information, stories, partners and actions around each of the community results as they related to affordable housing and economic self-sufficiency.
As part of this exercise, Board members engaged in a discussion to focus their collective efforts on encouraging private market rental options in York Region with specific focus on turning the curve on "rental housing starts in York Region". The Board's collective voice will impact both community results.

6. Committee received an update regarding membership vacancies and recruitment. New Board members include:

Committee welcomed the following guests from the following member organizations:

� Helen Murray, Chair, United Way of York Region

Regional Councillor Taylor, Co-chair, congratulated Susan LaRosa, Director of Education, York Catholic District School Board on her retirement and thanked her for her continued support and leadership in York Region as well as her commitment to serve as Co-chair of the Human Services Planning Board.
7. Next steps:
Board members were informed that in 2013 a progress review regarding the 60 actions identified by Human Services Planning Board Member organizations will be undertaken. The status of the actions will be reported at the next Board meeting to be scheduled for the Spring of 2013.
