COMMUNICATIONS
1. Joann Simmons, Commissioner of Community and Health Services, April 10, 2008 regarding Ontario 2008 Budget Highlights for Community and Health Services. Received with direction that a letter be sent to the Province of Ontario expressing Regional Council's concern regarding the need to provide extended or permanent funding of programs as opposed to one time funding allocations and the absence of funding for new development of affordable housing which was included in the Liberal election platform.
2. Hazel McCallion, Mayor, City of Mississauga to the Honourable Chris Bentley, Attorney General, March 14, 2008 regarding the
OTHER BUSINESS
3. Committee requested that a staff report be prepared for consideration in conjunction with a Committee Workshop regarding hospital wait times. The report and workshop content to include wait time data, results of pilot projects and details surrounding any provincial initiatives and funding for programs to address this issue.
PRIVATE SESSION
4. Committee moved to private session at 2:53 p.m. to consider a report entitled "Employment Issue" relating to a personal matter about an identifiable individual. Committee returned to public session at 3:35 with no report.
The Health and Emergency Medical Services Committee adjourned at 3:35 p.m.
