The Health and Emergency Medical Services Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by Health and Emergency Medical Services Committee with the following action:
 
1. The Health and Emergency Medical Services Committee elected Regional Councillor J. Frustaglio and Regional Councillor B. Hogg as Chair and Vice Chair, respectively, for the year 2004. Due to her absence, the election of Regional Councillor Frustaglio as Chair is conditional upon her acceptance.

2.  Sheila Birrell, Town of Markham letter dated November 26, 2003, regarding SARS Recovery Program Update. Received for information.
 
PRESENTATION
 
3.  Dr. Richard Schabas, Chief of Medical Staff, York Central Hospital regarding Lessons from SARS. Received with thanks and that staff prepare a report within the next two months regarding the status of any Provincial communications strategy regarding SARS.
 
The Health and Emergency Medical Services Committee adjourned at 3:26 p.m.
