The Community Services and Housing Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by the Community Services and Housing Committee with the following action:

 

ELECTION OF CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR

 

1. The Community Services and Housing Committee elected Mayor T. Taylor and Mayor S. Sherban Chair and Vice-Chair respectively for the year 2005.

 

PRESENTATION

 

1. Joann Simmons, Commissioner of Community Services and Housing and Dennis Norton, Director of Business Services, regarding '2005 Operating Budget'

 

Committee received the presentation and recommended that the 2005 Business Plan and Budget for the Community Services and Housing Department be referred to the January 27, 2005 Council Workshop for further discussion.

 

Committee further recommended that the Province of Ontario be requested to provide an itemized account of the increase of 2.7 million or 16% from 2003 - 2004 in the Ontario Disability Support Program invoice.
