The Community Services and Housing Committee advises Council of the following matters having been considered by the Community Services and Housing Committee with the following action:

 

1. The Community Services and Housing Committee elected Mayor T. Taylor and Mayor S. Sherban as Chair and Vice Chair, respectively for the year 2004.

 

PRESENTATION

 

2. Sharon Abrahams, citizen member of the York Region Accessibility Advisory Committee made a presentation entitled - "Introduction to York Region Accessibility Advisory Committee". Received.

 

COMMUNICATION

3. Lisa DiSera, Executive Director, York Region Food Network dated January 12, 2004 regarding York Region Pay the Rent and Feed the Kids Campaign. Received.

 

OTHER BUSINESS

 

4. Committee requested that staff bring forward a report regarding the feasibility of the future provision of Out of the Cold programs in the northern portions of the Region.

 

PRIVATE SESSION

 

5. Committee resolved into Private Session at 2:47 p.m. to consider a legal matter and resumed in open session at 3:08 p.m. recommending that the recommendations contained in the closed session report, as amended, be forwarded to Council for adoption.

 

The Community Services and Housing Committee adjourned at 3:09 p.m.
