The Accessibility Advisory Committee began its meeting at 4:07 p.m. on November 23, 2005.

UPDATE - COMMITTEE PROCEEDINGS

 

The Accessibility Advisory Committee advises the Community Services and Housing Committee of the following matters having been considered by the Accessibility Advisory Committee with the following action:

 

 

PRESENTATION OF 2006 DRAFT ACCESSIBILITY PLANS

1. Sylvia Patterson, Director, Housing Services Division, Community Services and Housing Department. Received

 

Committee requested staff to research the issue of private developers addressing accessibility issues and report back.

 

2. Marc Gallant, Senior Multi Media Specialist, Corporate Communications. Received

 

Committee requested that copies of the presentations regarding the 2006 Draft Accessibility Plans be forwarded to the local municipal Accessibility Advisory Committees for information.

 

3. Darwin Trojan, Manager, Occupational Health and Safety, York Regional Police. Received

 

Committee requested the opportunity to meet with the York Regional Police internal Accessibility Advisory Committee.

 

4. Barry Crowe, Director, Property Services and John Jacob, Program Manager, Strategic Planning, Policy and Asset Review, Property Services Branch, Corporate Services Department. Received

OTHER BUSINESS

 

6. Committee was provided with dates for the 2006 York Region Accessibility Advisory Committee meetings.

 

7. Committee requested to be advised when the submissions it directed to the Regional Transit Committee regarding mobility transit are scheduled for consideration.

 

8. K. Hill advised of a communication requesting support for the nomination of David Lepofsky to the Order of Ontario.

 

Committee directed staff to prepare a letter of support for the nomination of David Lepofsky to the Order of Ontario.

 

 

The Accessibility Advisory Committee adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
