Fight the flu before it starts


Fight the flu before you get it by receiving the annual influenza vaccine at one of The Regional Municipality of York’s seasonal community flu clinics.
 
Flu season generally occurs each year in the late fall and winter months. To protect against the flu, the seasonal flu vaccine will be available at no cost to York Region residents at public health community flu clinics on now until November 28.
 
The 2012 York Region flu campaign officially kicks off at the York Region Administrative Centre on Monday, November 5, 2012 where Dr. Karim Kurji, York Region’s Medical Officer of Health, will receive his annual flu vaccination.
 
Dr. Karim Kurji will also be available for media interviews.
 
WHEN:  Monday, November 5, 2012
  Media interviews and photo opportunity at 1 p.m.
  Community flu clinic from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
 
WHERE: York Region Administrative Centre, Great Hall
  17250 Yonge Street
  Town of Newmarket  
 
WHO:  Dr. Karim Kurji, York Region’s Medical Officer of Health
  York Region Community and Health Services staff
 
Residents may also get the flu vaccine from their family physician or at participating workplaces, pharmacies and other locations offering flu clinics.
