Buses to depart High Street and Burke Street at 4:18 am. and 5:01 a.m.
Beginning Monday, November 12, YRT/Viva is extending its early morning weekday southbound service on Route 50 - Queensway from the Sutton area in the Town of Georgina to the Newmarket GO Bus Terminal.
Two southbound trips will now depart from High Street and Burke Street (bus stop #5400) in Sutton at
4:18 a.m. and 5:01, Monday through Friday.
YRT/Viva service adjustments were based on survey feedback received in October from Route 50 customers.
Route 50 provides YRT/Viva customers 21 northbound and 21 southbound weekday trips, as well as weekend and holiday service. During the month of September, weekday ridership on Route 50 grew to more than 17,000 revenue trips.
YRT/Viva offers local and rapid transit services throughout all nine municipalities in York Region. More than 120 routes keep residents connected within York Region, as well as with connecting services in the City of Toronto and the Region of Peel. Year-end projections predict YRT/Viva ridership will reach 21 million riders in 2012.
