The Regional Municipality of York announces contestants of the SM4RT Living Family Challenge

Three York Region families to participate in three-month makeover challenge
NEWMARKET - Three York Region families are ready to take on The Regional Municipality of York SM4RT Living Family Challenge.
 
Over the next three months, this unique competition will challenge the three households to become more aware of lifestyle choices to reduce waste and help create a more sustainable future for their families and their communities. In the process, they’ll learn to unclutter their homes and lives, enjoy local markets, unleash creative potential, find quality time and explore all York Region has to offer.
 
WHAT: SM4RT Living Family Challenge Launch
Introduction of the SM4RT Living Family Challenge contestant families
 
WHEN: Saturday, March 31, 2012
  9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
 
WHERE: Aurora Cultural Centre

BACKGROUND:
 
• More than 25 York Region families applied to participate in the SM4RT Living Family Challenge
 
• Throughout the challenge, families will share their comments and observations about each assigned task through social media networks, including the SM4RT Living Family Challenge Facebook page www.facebook.com/sm4rtliving
 
• Tasks will be assigned by York Region and a prize will be awarded to the family who successfully earns          the most points for the selected task
 
• The SM4RT Living Family Challenge Launch will provide participating families with an overview of what's to come between April 1 and June 30; cameras will be provided to document their experience and a videographer will be present to provide tips
