Woodbine Avenue lane closures in Town of Markham due to emergency road repair

Lane closures at the Woodbine Avenue and John Street intersection may extend into the weekend
NEWMARKET – Lane reductions are in effect on Woodbine Avenue at John Street in the Town of Markham due to emergency road repairs. Northbound and southbound lane reductions will be in effect during construction activity.
 
The repairs will affect traffic throughout tonight’s rush hour period as well as into tomorrow’s rush hour periods.  Lane closures may extend into the weekend.
 
The east-west pedestrian crossing on the southern leg of the Woodbine Avenue and John Street intersection is also closed. YRT/Viva bus routes are not affected.
 
Motorists are advised to exercise caution through the construction area. York Regional Police are onsite managing motorist and pedestrian traffic throughout the area.
 
York Region thanks motorists and pedestrians for their patience.
