Langstaff Road in City of Vaughan closed due to natural gas leak

Road expected to remain closed through afternoon rush hour
NEWMARKET – Langstaff Road, east of Martin Grove Road to Vaughan Mills Road in the City of Vaughan, has been closed due to a natural gas leak. On Friday, June 15, 2012, at approximately 10:35 a.m., York Regional Police and Vaughan Fire and Rescue Services were called to Langstaff Road and Woodcroft Lane following a high pressure gas leak.
YRT/Viva buses were deployed to safely transport evacuated residents to Woodbridge Pool and Memorial Arena, located at 5020 Highway 7, near Islington Avenue.
York Regional Police are onsite managing traffic throughout the area and the road is expected to remain closed until approximately 7 p.m.
Pedestrians and motorists are asked to find alternate routes until the area is re-opened.
York Region thanks motorists for their patience.
