York Region EMS makes special delivery this Christmas Eve

York Region Emergency Medical Services brings teddy bears to sick and injured children
For the eighth consecutive year, paramedics from York Region Emergency Medical Services (EMS) will distribute teddy bears to children in hospital emergency rooms and children’s wards in The Regional Municipality of York on Christmas Eve.
 
Ganz Inc. has generously donated approximately 150 teddy bears to York Region EMS for distribution.
 
Media are invited to photograph and interview paramedics as they load teddy bears into emergency vehicles.

Please note: We request media not attend local hospitals for the event in order to respect patient privacy.
 
York Region’s team of more than 410 paramedics provide emergency medical response and pre-hospital care to York Region residents and visitors 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In 2011, York Region EMS paramedics responded to more than 73,000 calls for assistance, an average of one call every seven minutes.
