York Region hosts two youth-oriented Open Houses to discuss Vision 2051
NEWMARKET – The Regional Municipality of York invites youth to attend two Open Houses to share their ideas about what makes a great community and what kind of place they want York Region to be in 2051.
The feedback received from youth will contribute to the development of Vision 2051 – a new blueprint for York Region’s future. Vision 2051 succeeds Vision 2026 – the Region’s primary strategic document.
Given the long-term outlook of Vision 2051, York Region wants to engage youth in the development of the plan to ensure the decisions made now lay the foundation for the kind of Region they want to inherit.
York Region youth are invited to drop in and provide feedback at the following Open Houses:

The Regional Municipality of York was created by the Province of Ontario in 1971, with 2011 marking the 40th anniversary of York Region. Vision 2051 will build on the 40 years of the past and look 40 years ahead, providing guidance to Regional Council when making decisions and working toward achieving the kind of community our residents want the Region to be 40 years from now.
