Major Mackenzie Drive to close between Highway 27 and Huntington Road for emergency repairs to rail crossing

Motorists encouraged to use Rutherford Road during closure
NEWMARKET – The Regional Municipality of York will temporarily close all lanes of Major Mackenzie Drive between Highway 27 and Huntington Road in the City of Vaughan to provide access for CP Rail crews to make repairs to the rail crossing east of Huntington Road.
The road will be closed from Monday, May 16 at 8 a.m. to Tuesday, May 17 at 5 p.m.
Reconstruction efforts by CP Rail include the replacement of the entire crossing, which spans both lanes of Major Mackenzie Drive.
York Region staff have installed detour signs around the affected area, which will direct motorists along Rutherford Road.
York Region thanks motorists for their patience as these emergency repairs are undertaken.
