The Regional Municipality of York to host Streetscape Master Plan public information sessions

Sessions to discuss revitalization of Yonge Street from Steeles Avenue to Bantry Avenue
NEWMARKET - The Regional Municipality of York will host two public information sessions to inform residents about plans to transform Yonge Street from Steeles Avenue to Bantry Avenue in the City of Vaughan and Towns of Markham and Richmond Hill into a vibrant, engaging and world-class street.
 
The proposed transformation is part of the Region’s Streetscaping Master Plan, which will balance the demands of growth with the preservation of the area’s history and culture.
 
The public information sessions will be held in the Town of Richmond Hill and City of Vaughan (in the community of Thornhill).

The Streetscaping Master Plan integrates years of work and studies that have been undertaken along Yonge Street.  It includes plans for distinctive lighting and curbs, attractive medians, public art, street furniture and street trees.
