The Regional Municipality of York to conduct annual emergency exercise on Monday, May 31

“Operation: Strike Three” to test York Region’s response to downed cargo plane
NEWMARKET – The Regional Municipality of York will hold its annual emergency exercise on Monday, May 31 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
 
The exercise, dubbed Operation: Strike Three, revolves around a severe weather event causing a cargo plane crash, power outage and damage to a water pumping station.
 
York Region will open its Regional Emergency Operations Centre (REOC) at the York Region Administrative Centre as part of the exercise.
 
The purpose of our annual exercises is to test York Region’s response to different kinds of emergencies as well as fulfil provincial legislative requirements.

WHERE: York Region Administrative Centre, 17250 Yonge Street, Town of Newmarket
