Report highlights ongoing financial policies, practices and budget initiatives
NEWMARKET – The Regional Municipality of York today released its 2009 Annual Report which documents the Region’s financial performance related to the delivery of its programs and services.
“The 2009 Annual Report is a financial reflection of our accomplishments throughout that 12-month period,” said York Region Chairman and CEO Bill Fisch. “It confirms the scope and magnitude of high quality services provided by the Region in the context of a growing and diverse community.”
The 2009 Annual Report succinctly captures information on the accomplishments of York Regional Council, Regional Standing Committees and staff, as well as audited financial statements and a five-year review.
“Council continues to ensure vital services are delivered to York Region residents by supporting prudent financial policies,” said Town of Newmarket Mayor Tony Van Bynen, Chair of the Region’s Finance and Administration Committee. “This report highlights Council’s strong commitment to York Region residents.”
The report also includes a separate Housing York Inc. Annual Report insert.
“I would like to commend York Regional staff for demonstrating their continued commitment to York Region,” said York Region Chief Administrative Officer Bruce Macgregor. “With a wide variety of business areas, the report shows that our departments are working together to provide valuable programs and services throughout York Region’s nine local municipalities.”
The 2009 Annual Report is available at the Information Kiosk in the York Region Administrative Centre, 17250 Yonge Street in the Town of Newmarket. The Report is also available online on York Region’s website www.york.ca
