York Region offers prenatal classes for teens and single women

NEWMARKET – The Regional Municipality of York invites pregnant teens and single mothers to join an informational six-week prenatal course.  This supportive group provides an opportunity to share ideas, make new friends and learn more about your pregnancy. 
Sessions are facilitated by York Region Public Health nurses and address topics including healthy eating for you and your baby, coping with pregnancy and labour, breastfeeding and preparing for parenthood.  Labour coaches are also welcome to attend.
Sessions are offered free-of-charge to York Region residents and each weekly session includes a light nutritious lunch. 
When: Six-week session beginning Monday, May 3rd to Monday, June 14th 
  12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Prenatal classes are an important part of prenatal care.  They help parents understand what is happening during the pregnancy and prepare for what is to come.  York Region Public Health offers prenatal classes to all York Region expectant parents.
